Ian and John (SLHRA Chair and Treasurer) kindly performed the maintenance; preparing (filled and sanded), priming and painting the gate.
Thank you to everyone who stopped and spoke with the Ian and John, it was great encouragement especially on those hot days!
We have pictures and illustrations showing the gate as far back as 1869, see them in the Gallery click here
If you have any pictures of the St Leonard's Hill then please upload here.

Thank you Ian and John. Ed.

Some time ago, Legoland offered to sweep the hill as they had a machine that they use at the park. Unfortunately, this was delayed as the prior appliance needed to be replaced. The new appliance has arrived, you can see from the picture that it is a 21 plate!
A big thank you to the Legoland team for sweeping St Leonard's Hill.
Further work will take place in January 2021 to resurface the area of the Hill adjoining the western junction of Illingworth. The drain cover at the junction of Chestnut Drive which has been depressed by an HGV will also be rebuilt.
All this work is only possible because of our residents’ generous contributions which, we hope they will agree, have been put to good use.
