To provide visibility of planning applications that could affect all residents on St Leonard's Hill we publish a list on the website. Click here for the listing:

We aim to update this list monthly or more frequent.

The annual maintenance has been performed on the historic gate at the entrance to St Leonard's Hill.

Ian and John (SLHRA Chair and Treasurer) kindly performed the maintenance; preparing (filled and sanded), priming and painting the gate.

Thank you to everyone who stopped and spoke with the Ian and John, it was great encouragement especially on those hot days!

We have pictures and illustrations showing the gate as far back as 1869, see them in the Gallery click here

If you have any pictures of the St Leonard's Hill then please upload here.

Thank you Ian and John. Ed.

Legoland is both a neighbour and a resident of St Leonard's Hill, owning storage facilities at the farm at the top of St Leonard's Hill, where they store some of their Legoland park furniture.

Some time ago, Legoland offered to sweep the hill as they had a machine that they use at the park. Unfortunately, this was delayed as the prior appliance needed to be replaced. The new appliance has arrived, you can see from the picture that it is a 21 plate!

A big thank you to the Legoland team for sweeping St Leonard's Hill.

Our contractors, Falcon Surfacing Ltd, carried out the road repairs on the 6th January as voted by you the subscribers through our digital survey.
All this work is only possible because of our residents’ generous contributions which, we hope they will agree, have been put to good use.

Our contractors, Falcon Surfacing Ltd, carried out the first phase of the 2020/21 road repair programme on December 15th which was aimed at remedying the worst of the potholes on the Hill.
Further work will take place in January 2021 to resurface the area of the Hill adjoining the western junction of Illingworth. The drain cover at the junction of Chestnut Drive which has been depressed by an HGV will also be rebuilt.
All this work is only possible because of our residents’ generous contributions which, we hope they will agree, have been put to good use.

Small electrical items and batteries can be collected from the kerbside as part of regular waste and recycling collections.

The scheme will mean that residents will be able to recycle unwanted small electrical items alongside their other recycling, food waste and textiles. The Royal Borough is the first council in Berkshire to offer this service from the kerbside.

All sorts of small electrical items including toasters, kettles, keyboards, hairdryers, electric shavers will be collected along with their leads and cables, as long as they fit inside a standard size carrier bag.

Residents should place unwanted small electrical items in any plastic bag and then leave the bag next to their bins on collection day. Household batteries (not including car batteries) will also be collected in the same way but need to left in a different bag.

All electrical items will be either reused or recycled and the various raw materials used to make new products such as the zinc in mobile phones used for galvanising railings and lamp posts and the gold found in games consoles used to make new jewellery.

Larger items, such as TVs and microwaves, will still need to be taken to the tip for recycling. A list of council recycling centres can be found here.

A common challenge for visitors to St Leonard's Hill is the location of the houses on the hill as the properties are not numbered or listed in alphabetical order or listed on Google Maps. We have created a google mymap of the St Leonard's Hill.

We will add the other parts of St Leonard's Hill for example, Dower Park.

Here is the link to the map.

The map is also available from the menu at the top of the website.
